Camper in Pego

Our third camper

Bürstner Delfin T695

After selling our previous motorhome and completing the house move, the search for a new vehicle begins. This turns out to be a long journey full of challenges and disappointments. Eventually, we find the motorhome that meets all our requirements, a Bürstner Delfin T695. However, quite a lot happens before we reach that point.

Importing our 2005 Chausson into Spain proves to be a dead end. The Dutch RDW has no type approval number on record for it. We enquire with both the importer and the factory to see if we can obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC). Unfortunately, we receive no response from either party.

This document, the Certificate of Conformity, serves as a birth certificate for the vehicle. Without it, importing a vehicle into Spain is virtually impossible, or at the very least expensive and time-consuming with an uncertain outcome. We decide not to go down that road. Therefore, we take a radical decision and sell our Chausson. Within forty-eight hours, the motorhome changes owners.

Once the complications of the move are behind us, the search for a motorhome begins. One thing is certain, we are going to go camping again. Do we travel in a campervan, an A-class, or a coachbuilt motorhome? Which layout do we want? These and numerous other questions arise during our digital search.

Should we make concessions

We constantly make a selection from the available stock. Then we head out. Sometimes we hesitate, other times we return home empty-handed. We simply cannot find a motorhome that meets our needs. Are we being too critical, are our standards too high, or should we make concessions?

This time, we certainly do not rush into things. We even hire a campervan to see if it suits us. Although we enjoy an excellent week on the road, we conclude that a van is not for us, as described in our blog.

Bürstner Delfin T695

There is hardly a motorhome for sale in Western Europe that has not crossed our path. Then, quite unexpectedly, we find a Bürstner Delfin T695. It meets all our requirements. The moment we step inside, we get that ‘wow’ feeling. We still decide to sleep on it, but after a test drive, we are certain, this is the one.

The moral of the story? Stick to your wishlist, determine where you might be willing to compromise, and keep searching until you find the motorhome that offers the right ‘click’. It is out there; you just have to find it. We succeeded.

Everything comes to an end

In the early spring of 2025, we decide to sell our motorhome. We have made wonderful trips with it (see our travel journal), but it is time for different experiences. Naturally, we will publish more about those on this website.
