After our adventures with the boat, the camper, and the road trips by car, it is now time for something new. We are going on the road with a tent trailer. We didn’t talk about one night of ice cream. In the end, the choice falls on a Camp-let North. Especially the compact model, the low weight, and the ease of use are decisive.

Why are we choosing a tent trailer now? A few years ago, before we bought our second motorhome, we were also faced with the question of how we wanted to continue travelling. For a moment, the option of a caravan came along.

Even now, we are reviewing that option. In the end, that opportunity falls away. We think it’s too big an obstacle behind the car.

What we want is a flexible way of travelling, freedom and a reasonable level of comfort. Buy a camper, you can say. Although we love travelling around with a motorhome – and will definitely continue to do so – we want to stay a little longer in the summer months in a place to explore the area by car or bicycle.

After much consideration, the choice fell on a tent trailer. A Camp-let, North to be exact.

Set up in no time

We think one of the biggest advantages of a Camp-let is the setup system. Whereas with traditional tents you sometimes spend hours with sticks and pegs, the North is up within minutes.

Thanks to the smart frame, the tent and the wagon unfold in one smooth movement. This makes it ideal for people like us who like to go around and don’t want to spend hours installing everywhere.

Breathable comfort with Isacryl

The tent of the Camp-let North is made of Isacrylic (295 g/m²). This material is not only very durable and colourfast but also highly breathable.

This means that the indoor climate always remains pleasant, even during hot summer days or an unexpected rain shower. Condensation is minimised, which significantly improves sleep.

Don’t sleep on the cold ground

For us, when choosing a new way of travelling, we did not want to give up too much on comfort. The advantage of a folding trailer is that you can sleep in a decent bed and not have to lie on the floor.

With a width of 1.60 metres, the Camp-let North has a fairly wide bed. At least wider than in our last camper. To increase sleeping comfort, we put a topper on the mattress.

Heart of the Camp-let North

Camping often means surrendering to luxury in the kitchen, but not at the Camp-let North. You can choose from different kitchen modules.

• Standard: a functional basic kitchen.
• All-in-one: equipped with two burners, a sink and work space (our choice).
• Deluxe: with extra storage space and worktop. This kitchen is also accessible during a short stop on the way.
• No kitchen. A cooking facility in the Camp-let North is optional and available at an additional cost.

Ideal for the modern car

With a driveable weight of approximately 250 to 290 kg, the Camp-let North is a lightweight in its class. This has the following advantages.

• Fuel economy: You hardly notice anything hanging behind your car.
• Driving license: You don’t need a separate licence to tow the tent trailer.
